Australian batsman Shaun Marsh is the latest injury causality in the side after suffering a broken finger which has forced him to return home from the ongoing tour of Sri Lanka.

Marsh suffered the injury while fielding in the third One-Day International on Sunday and further scans revealed a fracture of his left little finger.

Australian team physiotherapist David Beakley further confirmed that Marsh will return to Perth in order to recover from the injury.
“Shaun suffered an injury to his left little finger whilst fielding.

“An X-ray after the match confirmed a fracture and Shaun will now return to Perth to allow time for this to heal.”

The Australian selectors also intimated that Usman Khawaja will be taking the place of Marsh in the Twenty20 International squad which will play two games against Sri Lanka after the ongoing ODI series.

Australia won the third ODI against Sri Lanka by two wickets and took a 2-1 lead in the five-match series with two games to go.
