Zimbabwe’s first win in this Tri-nation series has come in the form of a thrilling 12-run win against Sri Lanka in Dhaka.

Tendai Chatara was the chief architect of the vicotry, taking four wickets, including that of Thisara Perera who looked like he could run away with the game.

It is Sri Lanka’s third successive defeat to Zimbabwe in ODIs, which could be seen as an indicator of their seemingly never-ending decline.

Zimbabwe put up a challenging 290 to the scoreboard after they were put to bat.

Hamilton Masakadza (73) and Sikandar Raza (81*) were the top scorer for Zimbabwe.

Sri Lanka kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Thisara Perera batted brilliantly with the tail scoring 67.

At one point it seemed he would take Sri Lanka home but the side lost momentum when the all-rounder fell in the 47th over.
