Hashan Tillakaratne to coach Bangladesh women’s cricket team

Former test cricket captain of Sri Lanka, Hashan Tillakaratne has accepted the post of head coach of the Bangladesh women’s cricket team.

Tillakaratne, who was a key member of the 1996 Cricket World Cup winning team for Sri Lanka, held several coaching positions before his latest elevation.

He was appointed head coach of the Sri Lanka women’s team earlier this year. He officially took up the role on June 01, 2022. 

Among his previous roles ranks working as the head coach of the Sri Lanka Women’s cricket team and Under 19 team. He also once served as the Batting Coach of the Sri Lanka Emerging Team.

Under his guidance, the women’s team managed to reach the finals of the 2022 Asia Cup.

Tillakaratne was also the head coach of the Kandy Tuskers, a franchise of the Lanka Premier League, during its inaugural edition.
