Dasun Shanaka records fastest 50 for Sri Lanka in T20 cricket

Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka became the first to score over 50 runs at a run-rate of 250 in a T20 innings against India, with his 56 runs in Sri Lanka’s second T20 against India today (05 Jan.)

Shanaka smashed a stunning total of 56 runs from 20 deliveries, breaking the previous records by cricket greats Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara, to score the fastest 50 runs in T20 cricket.

This is also the fastest fifty by the skipper in a T20 against India.

Despite having lost the toss, Sri Lanka put up a score of 206 runs for the loss of six wickets in the ongoing game.

India have currently scored 186 runs for the loss of six wickets, with team captain Hardik Pandya out for a mere 12 runs.
