Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first in the first ODI against India being played at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, India today (10 Jan.).
The Lions, led by skipper Dasun Shanaka, meet India for the first of the three-match ODI series against India today, with Rohit Sharma leading the hosts.
This will also be left-arm fast medium bowler Dilshan Madushanka’s debut match.
Both Captains have agreed that the dew in the atmosphere will likely play a huge role in today’s game, with Sharma saying that although they are happy to bat first, they would have opted to bat given the opportunity.
India sealed the three-match T201 series between the two sides on 07 January, winning 2-1 in the first phase of the tour.
The two teams will now compete in preparation for the 50-over World Cup scheduled to take place later this year.
