Sri Lanka bat first in 2nd ODI against India

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first in the second ODI against India being played at the Eden Garden Stadium in Kolkata, India today (12 January).
Sri Lanka’s captain skipper Dasun Shanaka said the Lions would be batting first as the surface looks like a “very good surface to bat on”, adding that the choice favours the visitors, as per previous statistics.
Both teams have seen a couple of changes for the second ODI in the three-match series, with Sri Lanka’s Dasun Madushanka and Pathum Nissanka being replaced by debutant Nuwanidu Fernando and Lahiru Kumara after suffering injuries in the first match on Tuesday (10 Jan.), while the host’s have replaced Yuzvendra Chahal with Kuldeep Yadav.
Sri Lanka (Playing XI) - Avishka Fernando, Kusal Mendis (WK), Nuwanidu Fernando (on debut) (in place of Pathum Nissanka), Charith Asalanka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dasun Shanaka (C), Wanindu Hasaranga, Dunith Wellalage, Chamika Karunaratne, Kasun Rajitha, Lahiru Kumara (In for Dilshan Madushanka).
