Stumps has been called on day 01 of the second Test match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand, after bad weather and bad lighting dominated the field in Wellington this morning (17 March).
The visitors won the toss and elected to bowl first, after which the hosts’ Devon Conway ploughed a hefty 78 runs.
The New Zealanders then saw a loss in momentum after Conway gave a return catch to Dhananjaya de Silva, shortly after Kasun Rajitha and Prabath Jayasuriya caught-and-bowled Tom Latham out for a meager 21 runs in the 26th over of the game.
Regardless, however, the hosts put up a score of 155 for the loss of two wickets at the end of 48 overs, while Sri Lanka is yet to bat.
