Dimuth Karunaratna to step down from Test captaincy

Sri Lanka’s Test captain Dimuth Karunaratna says he has informed the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) selection committee that he will step down from the captaincy after Ireland’s tour of Sri Lanka in April this year.

He made this remark while speaking to the media, following the second Test match played against New Zealand in Wellington today.

Sri Lanka lost the two-match Test series 2-0.

Meanwhile, the Ireland Men’s National Team is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka in April 2023 for a two-match Test series.
