LPL 2023 auction to be held on 11 June

The player auction of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023 will be held on 11 June, making this only the second franchise competition in the world to hold an auction instead of a player draft.

Accordingly, the purse for the franchises will be set at USD 01 million.

Several international world-class players, including David Miller, Babar Azam, Matthew Wade, Shakib Al Hasan and Tabraiz Shamsi have been listed in the direct signings for the fourth edition of the Sri Lankan Twenty20 franchise, while Sri Lanka’s Matheesh Pathirana, Chamika Karunaratne, Thisara Perera, Maheesh Theekshana, Wanindu Hasaranga, Angelo Mathews, Dasun Shanaka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Kusal Mendis and Avishka Fernando have been listed for the local pre-auction direct signings for Colombo,  Jaffna, Kandy, Galle and Dambulla.
