The arrested women are residents of Wariyapola and Badulla.

The postmortem examination on the Maldivian’s body is to be conducted today (15), to determine whether the death was a suicide or otherwise.

Slave Island Police said if it is uncovered that the cause of death was suicide the arrested females will be released and if its proven that any foul play was involved, further investigations will continue.

The Maldivian national had died after falling out of the 18th floor of a five star hotel in Colombo yesterday morning, while police were uncertain if the death was a suicide, an accident or a murder

It was later revealed that there were more Maldivians staying in the room with the victim and that two Sri Lankan women and two Russian women had also come to meet with the victim at the time of his death.
