Govt condemns ‘with disgust’ attack on JSC secretary

The Government of Sri Lanka today condemned with disgust the attack on the Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), allegedly by an armed group.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has ordered the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to take action to bring the perpetrators involved to justice, the Government Info. Department said.

JSC Secretary, Manjula Tilakaratne was hospitalized after being assault by a group of unidentified persons in the Hotel Road area in Mount Lavinia this morning.

He is currently receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.
