200 students hospitalized in Kandy

Around 200 students of the Nugawela Boys’ School in Kandy have been hospitalized with allergic symptoms.


Central Province Medical Director Dr. Shanthi Samarasinghe said that around 150 of these students have already been discharged, while roughly 50 others are still receiving treatment. 


She further stated that the students, between the ages of 5 and 12, were admitted suffering with symptoms including itching and blisters which have appearing in their skin.
