Former CMC member Azath Salley who was recently arrested by the CID over several allegations was taken to the Colombo National Hospital again.
Salley was arrested last Wednesday and was taken to hospital on Saturday after he refused to consume any food or medicine while in custody.
He was then handed over once again to the police after his condition was stabilized.
Furthermore, yesterday (May 6) Director General of the Media Centre for National Security, Lakshman Hulugalla stated that Salley had ended his fast and had accepted food.
However, he was again admitted to the Colombo National Hospital yesterday when his health condition had worsened while a hospital spokesman told Ada Derana that he was still refusing food and medicine.
Hospital sources claimed that Salley抯 condition had once again been stabilized.
The CID are investigating 18 complaints including the statements allegedly made by Salley in Tamil Nadu and an alleged financial fraud.
Hulugalla earlier stated that Salley had also flared racial tensions in the country. When the Director General was questioned by journalists as to why the actions of the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) were not met with similar responses by the government, he replied stating that the BBS had not been involved in any activity of that nature.
