Reliable sources told Ada Derana that UNP MP Dayasiri Jayasekera will meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa within the course of the day (July 24).

There is speculation that the UNP MP is to crossover to the government.

A special discussion between United National Party (UNP) leader Ranil Wickramasinghe and Kurunegala District MP Dayasiri Jayasekara was held on July 19 at party headquarters – Sirikotha.

Several topics including the upcoming Provincial Council election and obtaining the assistance of senior party members to win it were extensively discussed during the talks.

Meanwhile, rumors of the UNP firebrand MP crossing over to the government were also brought up during the meeting, to which Jayasekara had reportedly assured that he has no intention of leaving the UNP and joining the government.
