Wife of Wellampitiya OIC remanded until Jan 17

The wife of the former Wellampitiya Police OIC has been remanded until January 17 after her husband was arrested over a drug charge.

 

The suspect Police OIC was arrested on December 31 by the Colombo Crimes Division for possessing drugs.

 

The Colombo additional Magistrate allowed the CCD to detain and question the wife Wellampitiya OIC for an additional seven days after she too was arrested on January 1.

 

The Wellampitiya OIC was presented to Courts yesterday (7) and was further remanded until January 21.
