Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) trade unions have expressed their objection to a joint time table for private buses and SLTB buses, the Ministry of Private Transport Services said.
The ministry had previously pointed out the necessity for SLTB and private buses to operate on a joint time table in order to establish a better passenger transport service in the country.
The Cabinet last month granted permission for the joint time table to be implemented from 15th January 2014.
However, trade unions of the Sri Lanka Transport Board have now expressed their objection to the proposal, which allows for the allocation of 60% private buses and 40% SLTB buses on the schedule.
