Pirith chanting in Kiri Vehera to invoke blessings on national heroes

A special religious ceremony to invoke blessings on the country’s national heroes was taken place on March 15, marking the 200th year of signing the Kandyan Convention of 1815.


Maha Sangha from several Buddhist Viharas gathered to invoke blessings on national heroes at the pirith chanting and sangika dana ceremony which was held at the Kiri Vehera Temple in Kataragama under the patronage of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
