Kotadeniyawa child murder: suspects referred to JMO

The two suspects questioned over the murder of the five-year-old girl in Kotadeniyawa have been referred to the Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) of the Negombo District hospital, the police said.


Earlier, two persons including a 17-year-old youth were taken in for questioning over the rape and murder of the child who was found strangled to death on September 13.


She was reported missing from her home at Kotadeniyawa in Divulapitiya on the previous day. 


Investigations into the murder are carried out by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).


The two suspects will be produced before the Negombo Magistrate again on September 28.
