The petitioner, who accused Cabinet Spokesperson Rajitha Senaratna’s son of abducting his underage daughter, has withdrawn the petition he had filed at the Colombo High Court, Ada Derana Court reporter said.
The case was withdrawn when it was taken up for hearing before the Colombo High Court Judge on Tuesday (11).
The parents of the girl had earlier accused the minister’s son of abducting their daughter while claiming that they neither knew her whereabouts ever since nor whether the child is alive.
The girl’s father, Gamini Ranasinghe, at a press conference held in Colombo, charged that his daughter was abducted by Eksath Senaratna, a son of the Cabinet Spokesperson.
He added that his daughter, who at the time was preparing for the London Ordinary Level examination, was abducted on 14 February, 2014.
