Court bans welcome ceremonies for Premalal Jayasekara

December 10, 2015   01:08 pm

The Pelmadulla Magistrate’s Court today issued an order banning any ceremonies from being held in the Nivithigala police area to welcome former Deputy Minister Premalala Jayasekara, who was released after fulfilling bail conditions.

Nivithigala Police requested for the court due to the ongoing G.C.E. Ordinary Level examinations.

Therefore the magistrate ordered that no welcoming ceremonies be organized for the politician between 8.00am and 4.00pm today while O/L exams are being held.

Jayasekara, who was arrested on January 10 over a fatal shooting incident in Kahawatta, was ordered released on bail last Monday (Dec 07) by the Appeals Court.

However, he was only released today after fulfilling bail conditions.
