Mohamed Shariff Thowfeek takes oath as MP

Mohamed Shariff Thowfeek on Tuesday (26) took oath as a member of Parliament to fill the UNP National List seat vacated with the resignation of A.R.A. Hafeez.


The Elections Commission of Sri Lanka earlier said that Mohamed Shariff Thowfeek has been appointed to fill the seat.
 

M.S. Thowfeek was nominated by the General Secretary of the United National Party (UNP).
 

UNP National List MP Abdul Rauf Abdul Hafeez resigned as a Member of Parliament on Tuesday (19), citing personal reasons.
