Three suspects arrested in connection with recent violent incidents in Jaffna have been remanded till November 16 by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.

The suspects were arrested by the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) and produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris on Tuesday (8).

The TID informed the court that further investigations pertaining to the incident are ongoing and therefore requested that the suspects be placed in remand custody.

The suspects are reportedly believed to be connected to the ‘Ava Group’ – a criminal gang operating in Jaffna.
