Two A/L exam papers postponed due to Hajj festival

The Department of Examinations today announced that two exam papers of the 2017 G.C.E. Advanced Level examination scheduled to be held on September 02 has been postponed in view of the Hajj festival. 

Accordingly, the Common General Test and the Information & Communication Technology - 2 papers have been postponed to September 04, the Commissioner General of Examinations, W.M.N.J. Pushpakumara said. 

The Common General Test will be held from 8.30am to 11.00am on September 04 while the Information & Communication Technology – 2 paper will be held from 12.30pm to 3.30pm the same day.

He stated that the admission forms issued for all candidates will be valid for that date while the department of examinations can be contacted on their hotline (1911) for any further information. 

The Hajj festival, initially scheduled for September 01, will be celebrated on September 02 this year as the new moon of Dhul Hijjah had not been sighted on August 22.

The Colombo Grand Mosque had decided to celebrate Arafah on September 01.
