June 20, 2024

Wasp nests were safely removed from the Nine Arch Bridge, a popular tourist attraction in Ella.

The safe removal of these wasp nests and the application of protective coatings as a medium-term solution were carried out by a group of volunteer officers of the ‘Bingu Mithuro’ conservation organisation in Kandy. This was carried out jointly with the Ella Divisional Secretariat and the Ella Police under the supervision of the departments of Archeology and Railways and under the Central Cultural Fund’s Monaragala project.
