Poson Full Moon Poya Day…

June 21, 2024

Buddhist devotees in Sri Lanka celebrate the Poson Full Moon Poya Day this year on a grand scale, giving priority to religious observances. A number of devotees were observed visiting the Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo to engage in religious activities today (June 21).

Poson Poya Day is celebrated to commemorate the introduction of Buddhism to Sri Lanka by Arahant Maha Mahinda Thero in 236 BC.
