Navy intercepts fishing trawler with 200kg of narcotics; six arrested

Sri Lanka Navy says it seized a local multi-day fishing trawler carrying nearly 200 kg of narcotics on seas off the western coast and arrested 06 suspects.
The interception was made during an operation carried out by the Navy on high seas about 121 nautical miles (about 223 km) west of Sri Lanka.
Six suspects were arrested along with the multi-day fishing vessel that was transporting nearly 200 kg of narcotics substance, the navy said.
The arrested suspects, trawler and seized drugs are currently being escorted to land, it said.
