Charith Asalanka scored a century as Sri Lanka posted 279 against Bangladesh in an ICC World Cup match here on Monday.
Asalanka scored 108 off 105 and opener Pathum Nissanka made 41 after Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and opted to bowl.
For Bangladesh, Tanzim Hasan Sakib bagged three wickets while Shakib and Shoriful Islam claimed two wickets each.
The match is being played amid severe pollution levels in the city that had put the contest in jeopardy, fording the ICC to seek advice from renowned pulmonologist Randeep Guleria to ensure that the game takes place as scheduled.
The AQI (Air Quality Index) near the venue is close to 400.
