Advisory issued for heavy rains over 100 mm

The Department of Meteorology has issued an ‘Amber’ advisory for heavy rains in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
The advisory mentioned that heavy showers more than 100 mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts during next 24 hours until 01.00 p.m. tomorrow (14).
Thus, general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
