Dilith Jayaweera accepts invitation for presidential debate

The ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ presidential candidate, entrepreneur Dilith Jayaweera has formally accepted the invitation to take part in the historic debate that the ‘March 12 Movement’ is hoping to organize between six candidates contesting the 2024 Presidential Election.

 

Announcing this decision, Mawbima Janatha Pakshaya (MJP) leader Dilith Jayaweera said: 

 

“I would like to officially accept the invitation made by the March 12 Movement, to take part in a debate among 6 candidates contesting in this year’s Presidential Election. 

 

“I believe this platform will provide a novel experience for Sri Lankans to witness a productive dialogue on policies that each of us hopes to implement if voted into the Presidency. 

 

“I hope my fellow candidates that have been invited to take part in this debate - President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Sajith Premadasa, Leader of the National People’s Power MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MP Namal Rajapaksa and Former Parliamentarian P. Ariyanethran - accept this invitation and make this historic occasion a reality.”
