Sajith alleges deal between Anura and Ranil to defeat SJB

While highlighting that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is the only solution as it understands the burdens of the public, presidential candidate of the SJB-led alliance Sajith Premadasa urged the public to vote for him instead of President Ranil Wickremesinghe or Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Addressing a rally in Eheliyagoda, Premadasa claimed that the President and Anura Kumara Dissanayake have struck a ‘political deal’ to defeat him, adding that Wickremesinghe had struck a similar deal with former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in 2019.

“Throughout history, we have witnessed how President Ranil Wickremesinghe is good at misleading and betrayal.  In 2019, he struck a deal with former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to defeat me.  So, it is clear that President Ranil Wickremesinghe and NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake have struck a political deal. They have got together and formed an impure alliance to defeat me.”

Commenting further, Premadasa added: “They could have discussed to elect one person as president and the other as prime minister. That is their political alliance. To this day, they are merely acting. Because of these deals, Anura Kumara Dissanayake had the opportunity to talk in state media before the postal voting.”

“For those who are planning to vote for President Ranil Wickremesinghe, I request you not to waste your vote on him.  Cast your vote for Samagi Jana Balawegaya and Samagi Jana Sandhanaya to make that change. We will take on the responsibilities of the United National Party.”

“The only solution for the country is Samagi Jana Balawegaya that understands the burdens of the public”, he added.
