Power failure prolongs ‘white flag’ case

The member bench of the Colombo High Court decided to postpone the ‘white flag statement’ case when it was taken up today due to a power failure in the courts complex.

 

 

When the case was taken up today (Oct. 15) counsel for former Sri Lanka Army Commander Sarath Fonseka began cross examination of Sunday Leader editor Frederica Jansz regarding the white flag statement alleged to have been made by Mr. Fonseka.


 

When cross examination was in progress electricity supply to the courts was disrupted. A discussion followed between the judges and counsels, after which the three member bench decided to postpone the case till November 2.

 


The bench stated that further cross examination will resume on the said date.
