3rd ODI: Sri Lanka bowled out for 235

Sri Lanka were all out for 235 in the third and final match of the ODI series against Bangladesh, setting a target of 236 for the hosts.

 

Opener Pathum Nissanka’s dismissal was a big blow to the Sri Lankan side as the centurion from the last game was LBW out with the score 1/1. Avishka Fernando was also sent back for a timid score of 04. Captain Kusal Mendis hit 29 while unbeaten Janith Liyanage strengthened Sri Lanka’s innings with his maiden ODI century. Charith Asalanka and Maheesh Theekshana registered 37 and 15 respectively.

 

Bangladesh’s Taskin Ahmed picked up 03 wickets while Mustafizur Rahman and Mehidy Hasan Miraz bagged two wickets each.

 

The hosts won the first ODI of the series by six wickets courtesy of Shanto’s unbeaten 122. Sri Lanka fought their way back in the next outing, securing a close three-wicket win thanks to Pathum Nissanka’s composed 114.
