Increase doctors wages in budget - GMOA

The salary of doctors has to be increased in the upcoming budget, Government Medical Officers’ Association says. They stated that many government officials including the Secretary to the Treasury had been informed regarding the wage increase on several occasions.

 

 

The salary currently provided to doctors is in no way sufficient enough, GMOA Committee Member Dr. Chandika Epitakaduwa told Ada Derana.

 

 

“We request that the current ratio between the minimum and maximum wage receivers be brought to 1:12, as a step to keep the medical degree holders and other professionals in Sri Lanka within the country” he added.
