Commissioner General of Elections Saman Sri Ratnayake said accordingly, the period from midnight on 3 May until the Election Day will be declared an election silence period.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner General noted that the distribution of polling cards to households will take place until today and stressed that any individual who has not received their polling cards by this evening can collect them by visiting the area Sub Post Office.

Saman Sri Ratnayake added that the Election Commission has decided to use the little finger of each voter to make an appropriate mark when voting during the LG election.
