World-renowned Indian film superstar Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly expected to visit Sri Lanka in August to attend the inauguration ceremony of the City of Dreams Sri Lanka project, which is scheduled to officially open on August 2.

A recent post on the official Facebook page of City of Dreams Sri Lanka hinted at the actor’s anticipated presence at the event.

A landmark initiative by John Keells Holdings (JKH) in collaboration with Melco Resorts and Entertainment, the City of Dreams Sri Lanka is recognized as South Asia’s first fully integrated tourist resort and represents the largest private sector investment in Sri Lanka’s luxury hospitality sector to date.

This development—an investment exceeding USD 1.2 billion—redefines Colombo’s status on the global tourism map. It marks a significant partnership and a new chapter in the region’s hospitality and entertainment industry.

The integrated resort features a casino hall built to international standards, the ultra-luxurious Nüwa Hotel complex, and a world-class shopping mall. The project sets a new benchmark in South Asia’s tourism and luxury hotel landscape.

Strategically located in the heart of Colombo, the resort combines world-class hospitality, premium retail experiences, immersive entertainment, and cutting-edge MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) infrastructure, all within a single dynamic destination.
