The number of tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka so far in 2025 has surpassed 1.7 million.
According to latest figures released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), as of 28 September 2025, a total of 1,715,196 foreign nationals have arrived in the country.
Meanwhile, a total of 148,673 tourists have arrived in the country thus far in September.
A total of 46,321 tourists arrived from India in September which accounts to 31.2%. Furthermore, 10,092 persons from the United Kingdom, 9,191 from China, 8,757 from Germany and 8,510 Australian nationals have also visited Sri Lanka this month.
Meanwhile, among the number of tourists arrived in Sri Lanka in 2025, 371,916 individuals are from India.
Furthermore, 161,233 individuals from the UK and 121,910 persons from Russia also visited Sri Lanka in 2025, the SLTDA noted.
