Fire breaks out at Tea Factory in Nallathanniya

A fire broke out at a tea factory in Nallathanniya at approximately 1:00 a.m. today (9).
According to Ada Derana correspondent, the fire spread to the storage area where tea leaves were stored, resulting in the extensive destruction of packaged tea powder.
The fire, which reportedly spread rapidly was brought under control with the collective efforts of the estate workers, preventing it from reaching other sections of the factory.
The total value of the damage has not yet been assessed, but no injuries have been reported in the incident.
The fire has also caused a disruption to the factory’s electricity supply and the exact cause of the fire remains unknown.
Nallathanniya Police have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
