Sri Lanka dropped to third in the World Test Championship standings after Pakistan’s 93-run victory over South Africa in Lahore today.

With a winning start to the two-Test series at home, the Shan Masood-led side leapt to the second spot in the World Test Championship standings.

The 93-run win over defending champions South Africa has helped Pakistan kick-start their World Test Championship cycle in style.

The win in their opening game of the 2025/27 cycle sees the sub-continent side surge past Bangladesh, England, India and Sri Lanka to claim the second spot in the nine-team standings with 100 PCT and 12 points.

Meanwhile, still sitting atop the nine-team standings are 2023 champions, Australia, who have the bragging rights from three wins off as many outings. Sri Lanka are third after winning the two-match Test series against Bangladesh 1-0.

India have now won four of the seven Tests they have played in this cycle. England (43.33) are fifth with two wins, two draws and a loss in five Tests while Bangladesh (16.67) are sixth with one draw and one loss in two Tests in the standings.
