The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced a revised schedule for the remaining one-day international (ODI) matches between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, following recent security concerns in the capital.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the update on Thursday, expressing gratitude to the Sri Lankan cricket team for continuing their tour of Pakistan despite the recent incident in Islamabad.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Naqvi stated, “The spirit of sportsmanship and solidarity shines bright.” He praised Sri Lanka’s decision as a gesture of trust and friendship between the two cricketing nations.

According to the new schedule, the remaining ODI matches will now take place on November 14 and November 16 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The fixtures were previously set for November 13 and 15 but were postponed to allow additional time for enhanced security arrangements.

The schedule change follows Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC)’s confirmation that the tour will continue as planned, dispelling speculation of a withdrawal after Tuesday’s suicide bombing in Islamabad, which killed 12 people and injured 27.

In an official statement, SLC assured that player safety remains its top priority, adding that any player who chooses to return home will be formally assessed and replaced to ensure the series continues without disruption.

The Sri Lankan board also emphasized its coordination with the Pakistan Cricket Board and local authorities, expressing satisfaction with the security measures in place for the visiting team.

Earlier this week, Pakistan secured a six-run victory over Sri Lanka in the opening ODI held in Rawalpindi. The next two matches will determine the winner of the closely watched bilateral series.
