US President Donald Trump has taken to social media to denounce the Grammys show and take aim at host Trevor Noah, after the last awards were handed out Sunday night.
“The Grammy Awards are the WORST, virtually unwatchable! CBS is lucky not to have this garbage litter their airwaves any longer,” the president wrote on Truth Social, referring to the Grammys’ last year on CBS. After throwing shade toward the event, he pivoted to Noah.
“The host, Trevor Noah, whoever he may be, is almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the Low Ratings Academy Awards,” he continued. “Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!! I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media.”
Trump was referring to a joke the comedian made after the song of the year Grammy was dished out.
“There you have it, song of the year! Congratulations, Billie Eilish. Wow. That’s a Grammy that every artist wants, almost as much as Trump wants Greenland,” Noah said during the telecast. “Which makes sense because, since Epstein’s gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton. I told you, it’s my last year! What are you going to do about it?”
After the telecast, in his Truth Social post, threatened to send “my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C.”
Trump wrote, “Noah, a total loser, better get his facts straight, and get them straight fast. It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C., and suing him for plenty$. Ask Little George Slopadopolus, and others, how that all worked out. Also ask CBS! Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you! President DJT.”
Some artists didn’t shy away from addressing politics at the 2026 Grammy Awards. Notably on the red carpet, celebrities including Billie Eilish, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Finneas and Kehlani wore “ICE Out” pins, standing in resistance of federal immigration agents following the high-profile killings of Renée Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis by members of federal law enforcement.
Eilish and Bad Bunny were two of the biggest winners of the night to address ICE in their respective acceptance speeches. While taking the stage to accept the Grammy for song of the year, the “Wildflower” singer said, “As grateful as I feel, I honestly don’t feel like I need to say anything, but that no one is illegal on stolen land … It’s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now, and I feel really hopeful in this room.”
“Our voices really do matter and the people matter,” Eilish continued.
Bad Bunny won the coveted album of the year award, becoming the first Spanish-language album to do so. However, it was during his first televised win of the night, for best música urbana album, that he began his speech by saying, “Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say ICE out.”
“We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens, we are humans and we are Americans,” Bad Bunny continued. “The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love. So we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don’t hate them. We love our people. We love our family, and that’s the way to do it with love. Don’t forget that, please. Thank you.”
