According to a media release issued today (05), Siddons’ one-year appointment will come into effect on March 16, 2026.

Siddons previously served as the head coach of the Bangladesh National Men’s Cricket Team from 2007 to 2011, marking his highest level of international coaching experience.

He has also held positions as Head Coach of the South Australia Cricket Team (Redbacks) from 2015 to 2020 and the Wellington Firebirds, New Zealand, from 2011 to 2015, the statement said.

A Level 3 qualified coach, Siddons enjoyed an extensive first-class cricket career in Australia, during which he captained both South Australia and Victoria.

He will be responsible for guiding Sri Lanka’s women’s team in preparation for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in England in June 2026, it added.

Siddons’ first assignment with the team will be the Sri Lanka Women’s Tour of Bangladesh, which is scheduled to take place in April-May 2026.
