UGC authorizes 9 pvt. institutes to award degrees

The University Grants Commission states that nine private institutions in the country have currently been authorized to award degrees, after applications submitted by these institutions were reviewed.

Only institutions that abide by UGC rules and regulations have been provided authorization in this manner.

It is said that presently several more private education institutes have presented its appeals to the University Grants Commission (UGC) requesting permission to award degrees.

The requests will be thoroughly analyzed by a special commission while authorization will only be granted to institutions with appropriate standards, the UGC notified.
