A woman has been killed while ten others sustained injuries following a major road accident along the Kandy-Colombo road in Molagoda, Kegalle this afternoon (22), police stated.
The accident occurred at around 1:15 p.m., when a private passenger bus operating on the Nuwara Eliya–Colombo route reportedly crashed into multiple vehicles traveling in the opposite direction.
According to reports, the bus is believed to have been involved in a collision with approximately seven vehicles.
Police said several of the vehicles involved were associated with a driving school.
The injured victims were admitted to the Kegalle General Hospital for treatment.
The Traffic Division of the Kegalle Headquarters Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
