A possible shooting incident which had been reported earlier in a shop in Rattanapitiya, Boralesgamuwa has now been confirmed an attempted armed robbery. Two robbers had produced firearms in a bid to steal cash from the shop and afterwards had assaulted the shop owner and his helper prior to fleeing the scene.

The suspects who had arrived on a motorbike armed with guns and their faces concealed had threatened the shop owner and the helper and then proceeded to assault them before fleeing.

While the two wounded have been admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital, BoralesgamuwaPolice are conducting investigations in order to apprehend the suspects.
