Six of the 21 foreign nationals arrested during a raid in Maradana have been remanded until tomorrow (04) by the Maligakanda Magistrate's Court.

The suspects were produced before the court today (03) following their arrest by the Central Crime Investigation Bureau.

Meanwhile, 14 other suspects were granted bail.

They were ordered to be released on surety bail amounting to Rs. 100,000 each, Ada Derana reporter said.

The group includes Chinese and Bangladeshi nationals, as well as individuals of other nationalities. One woman is also among those arrested.

Police stated that the suspects were not in possession of their passports at the time of the raid.

Investigations are also underway to determine whether some of those who entered Sri Lanka on tourist visas were engaged in employment while staying at the premises.

Although bail was granted to 14 suspects, they were taken to prison as they were unable to fulfil the bail conditions immediately.

The case is scheduled to be taken up again tomorrow (04).
