The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC), following a special gathering held in Pottuvil yesterday chaired by party leader and Minister Rauff hakeem, has reached several decisions over contesting the upcoming Provincial Council election.
It was decided that if the SLMC is to jointly contest the upcoming election with a certain party, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be signed with the said party, SLMC General Secretary Hassan Ali said.
He, however, added that no decision was made on whether the party will contest the election jointly with a certain political party or group, or whether it will contest alone. A final decision will be made within the next two weeks, Ali said.
Sri Lanka Muslim Congress is coalition party of the UPFA government.
