The CID today informed the Colombo Magistrate’s Court that they are yet to receive the Attorney General’s advice regarding former media spokesman of the LTTE Velayudhan Dayanidhi alias Daya Master and Velupillai Kumaran Pancharatnam alias George Master, who are out on bail.
Investigations carried out regarding the suspects were completed and the reports were forwarded to the Attorney General on April 20, 2011, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Rashmi Singappuli.
However, the Attorney General has so far not provided advice to decide on further action to be taken regarding the two Tamil Tiger leaders, it said.
The suspects were handed over to Omanthai police by Sri Lanka Army on April 23, 2009 and were transferred to CID custody for investigation into their activities.
The Colombo Chief Magistrate then ordered that the Attorney General’s advice be sought hurriedly and be reported while the case was postponed to November 26.
