The Meteorological Department forecasts showers with strong winds over the country. It also added that heavy rain is expected in the Eastern, Uva and Southern Provinces.

There will be occasional showers in the Eastern, Central, Uva and Southern provinces. These showers may be spread to the Western, North-central and Sabaragamuwa provinces. There may be strong winds over the country at times.
Sea area. Showers or thundershowers accompanied by fairly strong winds at times will continue in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Matara to Trincomalee via Hambantota and these sea areas will be rough at times.
Naval and fishing communities are requested to be vigilant in their activities in the sea area off the coast from Matara to Trincomalee via Hambantota.
