Geoffrey Alagaratnam PC today said that he has decided not to contest for the Bar Association Presidency in order to avoid a division in the BASL.
Alagaratnam earlier stated that he would contest for the post after the current BASL President Wijedasa Rajapaksa decided not to contest for a second term as President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka when his term ends in March.
