The former Chief Justice was removed to satisfy the governments wish to make Aluthkade their ‘Kade’(shop), UNP MP Mangala Samaraweera said today. Addressing a press briefing Samaraweera added that Sri Lanka has effectively become a dictatorship with the passing of the illegal impeachment in parliament.
Samaraweera also claimed that there was an plot to assassinate J.C. Weliamuna who fought for democratic rights by opposing the impeachment. On Decemeber 10 the Attorney Generals Department had taken steps to release Madiwela Dolphin Chandana also known as Watte Chandana with the intention of assassinating Weliamuna, Samaraweera claimed.
He also revealed that Dolphin Chandana had been spotted near the residence of J.C. Weliamuna.
